For the first time in many years the NBREA AGM went somewhere besides the "Big 3" cities. We "took over" the entire Fairmount Algonquin in beautiful St. Andrews. It was a two day event with our Members Open Forum and AGM on Wednesday and our manditiory education being held today. Approximately 325 REALTORS (r) were in attendence.
This morning Pat Cassidy did a super job going through the new Condo Act. This came into effect on January 1st and it is quite a change from the old act. Anyone working on condo sales really needs to get this training as soon as they can. There are lots of new rules and regs to worry about.
In the afternoon we had Mark Weisleder review the current set of Standardized Forms which were rolled out at this AGM. They will be tested in the field by members until the AGM 2011 where we hope to have them accepted in a new by-law.
Last night, after our banquet, everyone got to have some fun with a casino night. After a few hours of games, where poor gamblers like myself could buy more money to play with, we had an auction with some great prizes. All in all over $2000 was raised to be given to the Red Cross for their Haiti relief campaign. Good job everyone.
I want to note what a great job the staff at NBREA did at organizing this event and to give two thumbs way up to the staff of the Algonquin for looking after our evey need. From food prep to room set up, it was very well done.
