As expected, March is starting to get very busy very quickly. February saw an increase in business over January and now March should be even better - barring huge snow storms or something. I was speaking at the Greater Moncton Home Builders last week, and they are all very positive about the upcoming season. Many are taking contacts into the summer already. All of them agree with CMHC's assessment that 2009 should be as good or even a bit better than 2008.
Metro is still riding high on some big construction projects and none have been put on the back burner since the fall. Our new $44M court house has started, they are still full steam ahead on the casino/hotel project and Mapleton Road infrastructure and retail construction is moving ahead in the spring. This will help keep our trades people working and the economy rolling right along.
