Los Angeles became the first city in USA which bans plastic bags. Good for them! Currently, few other big cities, such as Seattle, San Francisco, and others, consider the same ban. Tentatively, the law will be enforced in those cities starting from March 11, 2014. The plastic bags are not biodegradable. Besides the environmental pollution, plastic bags disintegrate into smaller pieces which could end up in the stomachs of animals. That could kill them, as it happen to the entire population of some turtles in the Caribbean.
I am just wondering what impact on businesses the ban of the plastic bags can cause. Liquor Marts in Winnipeg banned the usage of plastic bags long time ago, and I did not see the flow of customers decreased even a little bit.
