Winnipeg Realtors met on Jan. 16 for a forecast breakfast and the message was optimistic. The association’s analyst said that the province's healthy economy, low mortgage rates, tight rental market and a growing population will all add to an increase in selling prices. He cautioned that unit sales may be level or perhaps down slightly. Generally, though, the mood is good and REALTORS® are waiting for the cold snap to subside so they can get back to being busy at selling real estate. I’m heading to Banff next week for a Conference of the Western Provinces. I’ll check out how other cities are faring in their local real estate markets and report back.
