On July 3, 2007 the Town of Fort Erie introduced its new specialized transit service.
Fort Erie Accessible Specialized Transit is designed for eligible Fort Erie residents who need to travel within the Town for medical appointments, employment, education or for special outings. The service is available throughout the entire municipality.
Eligibililty: FAST is intended for persons who, due to a mobility problem, would be physically unable to board a conventional transit vechicle, or walk a distance of 175 meters (approximately 600ft).
FAST is only available to those who submit an application signed by a licensed health professional.

FORT ERIE TRANSIT
Fort Erie Transit buses are 100% accessible to ensure the safety and comfort of all our riders. All our buses meet the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
Buses are equipped with accessibility features to accommodate all levels of mobility.
These features include: Braun lift at the rear of the bus (curbside) Two forward-facing wheelchair positions with Q-Straint tie downs to secure mobility aids and seatbelts for the passenger Trained drivers to assist passengers to secure & store mobility aids and assist in boarding/ de-boarding the bus Slip-resistant flooring Next stop announcements by the driver Colour contrasted passenger grab handles and steps Courtesy and Priority seating onboard Certified guide dogs and service animals are welcome aboard.
