Tourism has started in Cape Breton Island!

On Wednesday while working on our new house overlooking the lighthouse at Boularderie Island, I was stopped by a car pulling up and a young man getting out. He walked gingerly and was quite excited when he hollered “ hi we’re here from the big city Montreal and would like to walk across your property to the beach look at the lighthouse.” No problem was my reply and he asked can we go for a swim? Vous est mal de tete was my reply, in English he said “a little”. I went back to work and a while later, up the 3 came, 2 young men and a young woman likely in their mid twenties, with their hair wet and talking about the invigorating dip that was so cold it felt like it burned. They thanked me and off they went.

Tourism definetly is driven by individual desires.
