I've always heard good things about this place. Bahn Mi Boys is located on 392 Queen St W, Toronto. Vietnamese subs are considered to be one of my favourite comfort foods so I couldn't pass on the opportunity to try out their take on my favourite treat.
I ordered the grilled pork "banh mi" and kimchi fries. There are many choices of meats to choose from. There is also a tofu option for vegetarians.
The sandwich was good. The meat was well seasoned and had a char broil taste to it. Bread was fresh and the vegetables were crisp.
Now onto the kimchi fries. Imagine new york fries with bbq pulled pork, some sort of mayo sauce, and kimchi on top. The fries were deliciously greasy. The entire combination of the savoury, sweet, and sour really worked for me. I enjoyed the kimchi fries.
While I was there, there was quite a line-up even at 8pm. I noticed that a lot of customers ordered the "steamed bao" and taco. I will definitely try those in my next visit.
Here's the menu for those who are interested.
I recommend this place. The price was not too expensive either. Definitely check this place out if you're by Queen and Spadina.
