The Town of Arnprior is the gateway to the Upper Ottawa Valley in Renfrew County. Arnprior is also on the doorstep of the City of Ottawa - a direct 25 minute drive from Kanata along the new four-lane Highway 417.

Located on the banks of the Madawaska River and the Ottawa River, Arnprior is known as the

Named by its early Scottish settlers, Arnprior is a flourishing town of industry, manufacturing, retail, small businesses and entrepreneurs. Residents also enjoy the service of their local hospital, library, theatre and the recreational centre with its year-round hockey arena plus indoor swimming pool. There are four elementary schools and one high school. The Arnprior Airport is located approx 6 km outside town.

A treasured part of Arnprior is its Gilles Grove, 45 acres of Old Forest located a couple of blocks from downtown. The unique, natural environment has rare trees, plants and birds such as the Barred Owl, Red-shouldered Hawks and Pileated Woodpeckers. On site is a Royal Oak planted in 1860 by His Royal Highness, Edward Prince of Wales.

The relaxed atmosphere and natural beauty has attracted numerous new families to the town. Today’s population is approx 8,100. Families are enjoying a full life of outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, sailing, fishing and canoeing. Golfers have several quality greens to choose from and skiers have cross-country trails or downhill opportunities within a few miles of town. All the while – if need be – city amenities are just down the road.
