For you who are new to our beautiful seaside province or just recently returned, welcome to our wild and wacky weather. Those who are not living here anymore but are still in Canada or the US, I gather from the news that you are not faring any better. As any of our residents, both past and current, can attest, this is not a typical winter thank goodness. However after checking our local forecast I'm happy to say that we can look forward to some milder weather over the next 2 weeks. I will be very happy to be getting out of the deep freeze even if it is only for a couple of weeks but here is to hoping that the worst is over.
On the real estate side of things, as many of you are aware this past year was challenging in the local market area. Listings exceeded Buyers due to a change in policies from DND regarding postings, this caused a slight decline in property values. Hopefully, and if history is anything to go by, this will have been absorbed and we will see a return to the norm by the time we get into the active season this spring. Interestingly enough despite the cold weather, we are still seeing a considerable amount of activity with both Buyers and Sellers through the month of December and into January.
If you are going to be in the market to buy or sell let me know if I can be of any assistance. Please do not hesitate to contact me early if you wish to run some ideas or plans past me prior to getting your property ready to put it on the market. My opinions and advise are free and may possibly save you some time and money.
