Here are Some of the Ways I Market Your Home!

Professional Background

With over 30 years of real estate experience, I am proud to be associated with the professionalism of Century 21. This is a very forward thinking organization with many tools to help in the marketing of your home.  We have a unique strategy which includes every listing having its own distinctive website, url sign riders where possible, print and online flyers, Google streetview, Google word ads and Showcase 21 photo tours.  This is available for your home 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

Professional Interests

Life long learning is one of my favourite interests and one that ties into my role as national trainer for the CREATE 21 course with CENTURY 21 Canada.

Some of my favourite books include:

  • The Success Principles by Jack Canfield
  • Think and Grown Rich by Napoleon Hill
  • The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg
  • How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age by Dale Carnegie
  • Work by Referral by Brian Buffini and Joe Niego

I would love to hear what you are doing or reading that has positively influenced your life.

Continuing Education!

Those who know me well, know how much I love to read, attend courses and learn as well as teach.  For over 6 years I have had the enjoyment of helping new sales representatives in our office in my capacity as office trainer.  This continues to be a source of fullfillment and creativity as well as a way of paying back all of the guidance and help that I have received over the past 28+ years from many mentors.

In 2011 I completed the SRES - 50+ Market Designation Course!  Being part of that demographic myself,  I found this very helpful in being aware of the future needs of boomers and zoomers.  I can help you find a home that suits your current and future needs in this growing area of active retirees!

My area of expertise lies within the residential market including condominiums and detached homes.  I love assisting first time buyers as their needs are high and helping them understand the process and educating them is of upmost importance. Move-up buyers often have completely different expectations and situations to be dealt with.

In 2007 I completed the Century 21 course entitled "Mature Moves", which is designed to assist the more senior client make an intelligent and thoughtful transition into the next phase of their housing needs. In 2011, I achieved the SRES - 50+ market designation course as well.  Having been a homeowner myself for the past 30+ years, I am also aware of all the ages and stages between these two ends of the market and will accommodate whatever your particular requirements are.  Both Buyers and Sellers will benefit from my experience, professionalism and thoroughness.

Personal Background

I moved to the Blue Mountain/Collingwood area in 1989 and have found it a great place to raise 2 boys and to call home.

With the variety of activities available such as golf, mountain biking, hiking trails, snowboarding, skiing and skating located close by  there is always something to keep myself and the boys busy!  Now that they are grown, I enjoy more time gardening, golfing and visiting with family and friends (many of whom are past clients).

As a member of Blue Mountain Golf and Country Club there are lots of opportunities to relax (sometimes) on the course while enjoying the scenery of the area.

Community Involvement

Since 2007 I have been an active volunteer with the Georgian Triangle Association of Realtors in a variety of committees and task force positions.

I enjoy organizing office charitable events such as "Walk A Mile In Her Shoes" to benefit the local women and children centre as well as CENTURY 21 Millennium's  Caring for Kids Program.  We sponsor needy families in the area and supply the children with a spectacular Christmas!  It's an incredibly inspiring and emotional event every year!   Let me know if you would like to donate to either cause!

Places to visit in Collingwood

The Lethal Buzz Cafe is my favourite spot to catch up with friends and clients over a steaming cup of coffee.  Located on Hurontario St across from the Federal Building it's a great location to take a break after getting groceries or showing friends around the downtown.  I'm addicted to the "Stress Relief" tea but if you want to feel the Buzz  try a huge cup of your favourite blend!  Great fresh baked goodies and lunches as well!   The owners Steve and Stacey are always on hand to greet customers with a smile and friendly word.

Dear Betty,
Just wanted to let you know how appreciative we are of your hard work and care in handling the purchase of our new home in Collingwood. Of all the agents that we came into contact with on our initial "open house" visits to the area, you were the only one who took the time to get to know us personally, and be sincerely interested in what we were looking for, which led to your timely follow up call with the perfect property that checked off all the boxes.
Having not gone through this process for over 25 years your expertise and advice were crucial in catching us up to the current trends in the real estate market and how to proceed appropriately (and successfully) with all aspects of buying and selling a property. Thanks for your professional guidance throughout the entire process and for turning a stressful time into a pleasant experience. We will not hesitate to recommend you to any of our friends who may be thinking of re-locating to the Collingwood area.

Dear Betty

I apologize for being tardy but wanted to send a big THANK YOU to you for all your work on our behalf and also for your generous gift certificate! It was so appreciated as was your efficiency, diligence and good humour! (that is a trait that is always appreciated.)

Continued success Betty - we know who to call next time. (though you know I'm hoping to stay put for a long while - but - never say never.)

Over the past several months we have had the pleasure of working with Betty in our quest to find a home in Wasaga Beach. Logistically, the search was somewhat challenging, as we live in Burlington and had to have a reliable realtor who understood our needs and who was capable of screening many of the properties that were of initial interest to us.

We were fortunate to find such a caring and professional person in Betty Hancey who was always ready, willing and able to go the extra mile to satisfy our requirements. Betty is patient, efficient and accommodating and her pleasant personality makes the process that much more enjoyable.

Thank you for helping us to successfully locate and purchase our new home Betty.

We are more than pleased to highly recommend you to anyone who is interested in moving to your “neck-of-the-woods”.

Best regards,

Richard and Brenda L

Betty, we wanted to let you know how much we appreciated your help with our recent purchase in Thornbury.  Your professionalism during the purchasing process was helpful and ethical.  The promptness which you dealt with our various issues over the next several months was extremely impressive.  After using several real estate agents over the years we found your skills to be superb.  We are pleased to recommend your services to others in the future.

All the best,

Larry and Christine F

Working with Betty on both the sale of our home and the purchase of another has been a sheer pleasure. Betty not only listens to her clients, she follows up with great efficiency and promptness and is never too busy to address any concerns you might have. She is a true "people person" and it shows in her thoughtful consideration of her clients, going out of her way, if necessary, to make sure the selling and buying process is as pleasant as possible.

We highly recommend Betty as a Realtor you can trust and in whom you can put your full confidence. Our results speak for themselves.
