New Affordable Housing Opens in Saskatoon
The Government of Canada, the Province of Saskatchewan and the City of Saskatoon, along with project partner Central Urban Métis Federation Inc (CUMFl) officially opened 11 new units of affordable rental housing for families in Saskatoon yesterday.
Saskatchewan is experiencing strong and continued growth. The need for Innovative partnerships joining forces to create affordable housing has never been stronger.
A collaborative project like this one is helping people in need. Mayor Donald Atchison stated that the City of Saskatoon is proud to partner with CUMFI and with other levels of government in this project. Mayor Atchison acknowledged that there are many low income families in Saskatoon in need of suitable housing. Since 2008, the City of Saskatoon has invested over $10 million to build 1372 new affordable and rental housing units.
