Did you know?

Did you know...

... that today is Land-Speed Record Day? On December 6, 1976, a land-speed record for female drivers was set at 512.710 mph. What makes that record extra special is because the driver, Kitty O'Neil, had been deaf since she was 4 months old. She never let this disability become an obstacle to achievement - overcoming her deafness, spinal meningitis, and cancer to become a professional driver and stuntwoman. In all, she has held 22 speed records on land and water.
