March statistics present a strong showing in the Okanagan Shuswap.

In March of 2015 sales were up in all three regions; the Central Okanagan, the North Okanagan and the Shuswap, compared to January and February of this year. As the market opens up for the spring rush these statistics will continue to rise. It is interesting to note that the year to date sales in the North Okanagan are down when we compare to the year to date sales of the first quarter of last year. That has more to do with the fact that last March was an exceptionally good month rather than this March being a slower month. Most areas of the country thrived in the first quarter of 2015. Toronto residential sales are up 11%, Winnipeg sales are up 5%, Vancouver sales are up a whopping 53%. In contrast, our neighbours in Alberta and Saskatchewan are seeing a correction. In some areas it's a major correction. Sales are down 30% year over year in Calgary. Edmonton is correcting as well but a lesser extent. Saskatoon sales are down 9%. The Okanagan Shuswap Real Estate market has been waiting a long time for the market to stop falling and finally rebound. That time is now.
