On Friday afternoon I attended another exciting technology seminar on marketing homes for sale on the Internet. Wow! There is so much we Realtors, as well as the consumer, are still learning about this new advertising medium.
Traditional media advertising just is not as cost effective as it once was. It is very difficult to measure a rate of return for dollars spent in newspaper and real estate publications. We Realtors spend the dollars there because our vendors want to see their homes in print, but I firmly believe we can do a better job of marketing a home on the Internet. How often do I hear a salesperson complain how expensive print media is and also say that they can't remember the last time they sold a home from print advertising? But I do constantly hear from the salespeople in our office that they have picked up another client from the Internet.
Now, any realtor can say to a vendor "list your home with me and I will put it on the Internet", that's easy, BUT is that home really getting the exposure the seller needs to get the home sold? Will that home be seen? How will it be presented on the web? Will it be easy for the potential buyer to find the information they want and need? What sellers need to day is not just a website listing, but a well thought out, well executed, Internet Marketing Strategy.
When it comes to selling your home using the power of the Internet, CENTURY 21 is so much further advanced than any of our competitors. When you list your home with CENTURY 21 Miller we can deliver more visibility, more hits, and more activity than any other brand in real estate. As of the end of May 2009, www.century21.ca generated more views than any other real estate brand web site in Canada. On the basis of average traffic per salesperson, we are not only number one in Canada, but first in the world for a real estate brand web site.
With so many buyers starting the home buying process on line, in today's world, the first showing of any home is on the Internet. Anyone selling a home today needs to be listed with a CENTURY 21 realtor because we are the new media when it comes to selling homes.
