I will be running in a 10K run for kids with cancer in Toronto on Sunday, May 3, 2009. The proceeds of the event will go towards sending a child with cancer to Camp Oochigeas where they will enjoy two weeks of activities. What a week I've had, my daughter started showing some signs of labor last Wednesday but no baby, then on Sunday we attended a baby shower in their honor, my daughter still having contractions, but no baby, then early Monday morning "Family Day" or better known as my birthday, our sweet little baby came into the world. My daughter and spouse are delighted, and I am over the moon. Happy birthday ...

Under the Home Renovation Tax Credit, introduced in the January federal budget, home improvements costing between $1,000 and $10,000 will be eligible for a 15 per cent deduction for the 2009 fiscal year. But Canadians have a short window to take advantage of the HRTC, since it only applies to renos done between Jan. 27, 2009 and Feb. 1, 2010.
