Are you planning to visit any Barrie beaches this summer? If so, which one is your favourite?
I am proud to live in a city like Barrie, home to clean and sandy beaches. Each one is unique and I enjoy them all.
This week I am featuring Johnson's Beach and wanted to share what I love about this one in particular.
Located at 2 Johnson Street South - next to the Barrie Yacht Club
Johnson's Beach is located on the north shore of Kempenfelt Bay. Quieter than Centennial Beach, and a great place for kids and family time. Away from downtown but a short walk to restaurants and shops.
Features of Johnson's Beach include:
- 1.97 acres of sandy beach
- Lifeguard supervision **
- change rooms
- parking *
- No smoking on the beach or park
- Dogs not permitted on the beach
** Life Guards:
11:30am to 5:30pm from the end of June to the middle of August, weather depending. Lifeguards are not on duty when it rains.
* Parking: Free parking if you have a Residence Parking Pass clearly displayed. Hourly paid parking is available for non-residents.
I want to hear from you! What is your favourite Barrie beach and why? Tell me about it and your input might be featured in my next blog.
Hope to see you at one of our lovely beaches this summer!
