Best Places to Picnic in Barrie

 

Pack a table cloth and lunch!  There are a great many places to picnic in Barrie.  With our many beaches and amenities, it makes picnicking easy. 

Here's a handy list of the best picnic spots in town.  Ants not included.

 

Bayview Park


South side of Dunlop Street East between Mulcaster Street and Poyntz Street
Description: Features include a picnic shelter.

 

Centennial Beach 


65 Lakeshore Drive, Barrie (between Toronto Street and Tiffin Street)
Description: Supervised beach, end of June to mid August (7days /week). Features include accessible playground equipment, biking & walking paths, picnic tables, restrooms, concession stand, flower gardens, water fountain, mini golf, beach volleyball courts, boat launch, and parking.

 

The Gables


Northeast of Bay Lane on Tollendal Mill Road 
Description: Features include woodland trails, beach, and picnic shelter.

 

Minet's Point Beach


6 Brennan Avenue, Barrie (located east of Minet’s Point Road on White Oaks Road, north of Tollendal Mill Road)
Description: Unsupervised area. Features include playground, picnic tables, restrooms, parking and small non-motorized boat access area (ie: windsurfing).

 

Tyndale Beach Park


Located east of Cox Mill Road north of Tollendal Mill Road on the lake side of Tyndale Road
Description: Unsupervised area. Features include playground, restrooms/change rooms, picnic shelter, and beach volleyball courts.
