CITY OF BARRIE, CULTURE DAYS

Culture Days is a collaborative pan-Canadian volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. The first annual Culture Days event was held in September 2010 in over 700 Canadian cities and towns and, by all accounts, was a great success.

Mark your calendars for an after-work extravaganza filled with local entertainment and great food as the Department of Culture celebrates our fourth annual Culture Days! The fun will begin in the City Hall Rotunda on Friday September 27th at 5:00 pm and continue until 7:00 pm.  Guests are welcome to help themselves to some delicious complimentary appetizers while enjoying the many talents of local artists; such as budding starlet Tori Hathaway, local magician James Harrison, several fantastic folk artists and a few dancing surprises. The entire community is welcome to attend and there is no cost or registration required.

Culture Days events feature many free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind the scenes” to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, and designers at work in their community.
