Driving to work this morning I chose the safer route going through the Downtown core. I found a girl on the side of the road who was freezing cold and trying to catch the bus. Yes I picked her up and took her to work. It made me feel great and then she told me that she was new to Barrie and that it was her birthday today. You just never know.

Under the Home Renovation Tax Credit, introduced in the January federal budget, home improvements costing between $1,000 and $10,000 will be eligible for a 15 per cent deduction for the 2009 fiscal year. But Canadians have a short window to take advantage of the HRTC, since it only applies to renos done between Jan. 27, 2009 and Feb. 1, 2010.
