January

  • Christmas Decorations; organize and pack away
  • A great month to clean and polish your kitchen cabinets
  • Clean behind your fridge. Vacuum your coils.
  • Give your stove and oven a good clean
  • Vacuum/clean your circuit breakers
  • Change filter on your furnace
  • Vacuum/clean your furnace room
  • Freshen your garbage disposal and or/drains with baking soda and vinegar
  • Clean your range hood fan, wash the filter.
  • Test your fire extinguisher

 

February

  • Check your sinks, tubs, and shower and repair grout where needed
  • Wash your curtains, or vacuum and freshen
  • Clean/dust all window blinds
  • Clean your light fixtures and ceiling fans. Replace light bulbs where needed
  • Check for leaks with your plumbing: toilets and sinks
  • Test electrical, and power cords

 

March

  • Clean baseboards and doors, touch up with paint if needed
  • Clean out your closets and donate what you don't need
  • Check and test all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Vacuum and clean devices
  • Check weather stripping on windows and doors. Repair where needed
  • Clean your range hood fan, wash the filter.
  • Test your fire extinguisher

 

April

  • Service air conditioning unit
  • Aerate and fertilize lawn
  • Inspect your sprinkler system, and make repairs where required
  • Go through old bills and paperwork. Shred and recycle
  • Clean out toys and donate where applicable
  • Polish up your china cabinet
  • Vacuum/clean your furnace room
  • Freshen your garbage disposal and or/drains with baking soda and vinegar

 

May

  • Inspect and service your deck. If wood re-apply sealant
  • Pressure wash exterior of house
  • Clean front porch. Put out a fresh welcome mat
  • Clean out garage. Plan a yard sale
  • Wash windows and screens, inside and out
  • Plant annuals and perennials
  • Wash out the bird bath and bird feeders. Add fresh seed
  • Check your sinks, tubs, and shower and repair grout where needed
  • Check for leaks with your plumbing: toilets and sinks
  • Test electrical, and power cords

 

June

  • Plant your vegetable garden
  • Repair and paint fence if needed
  • Re-paint front door, garage door, shutters if needed

  • De-clutter and donate

August

  • Have your carpets deep cleaned
  • Remove water heater residue

  • Test your fire extinguisher

 

September

  • Cover your air conditioning unit for winter
  • Rake leaves, mulch, dispose
  • Check and test all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Vacuum and clean devices
  • Have your heating system serviced
  • Have your air ducts cleaned
  • Check weather stripping on windows and doors. Repair where needed
  • Clean your range hood fan, wash the filter.
  • Put away outdoor furniture
  • Clean and organize garage

 

October

  • Trim branches and shrubs
  • Winterize your garden
  • Turn off sprinkler, shut off hoses
  • Put away the lawn mower and summer tools
  • Clean roof and gutters. Make repairs where needed
  • Hot water heater, drain and remove sediment
  • Get your chimney inspected and cleaned
  • Check attic insulation. Add more if needed
  • Clean your bookshelves, and donate where applicable
  • Freshen your garbage disposal and or/drains with baking soda and vinegar

 

November

  • Check your dryer vents for blockages and lint. Clean where needed
  • Go through your Christmas décor and replace what is needed
  • Put up your Christmas lights
  • Update your Christmas card list
  • Clean out your cold storage room
  • Clean out your shoe closet, and donate what you don't need
  • Check for leaks with your plumbing: toilets and sinks
  • Vacuum/clean your furnace room

 

December

  • Ensure you have salt/sand for your driveway and front porch
  • Add gas to your snow blower
  • Clean out your food pantry
  • Vacuum and dust all art and photo frames
  • Clean under the sinks today. Re-organize and dispose what you don't need
  • Tidy up your office and replenish office supplies
  • Check weather stripping on windows and doors. Repair where needed
  • Clean your range hood fan, wash the filter
