Local Realtor Recognized

Kudos from Calgary for a realtor who cut his teeth in the Drumheller market.

Bob Sheddy has been nominated for one of the Calgary Real Estate Board's ROAR Awards.

"It's an acronym and it stands for Recognizing Our Accomplsihed Realtors," says Manager of Membership Programs for the CRB, Lisa Roberts.

"It's providing us a unique opportunity to celebrate the exceptional talent and hard work of Calgary and area realtors; and we want to recognize them for professionalism and excellence and dedication to their careers."

There are five ROAR categories: Marketing Excellence, Mentorship Distinction, Community Impact, Commitment to Education and Peoples' Realtor, which is chosen by members of the general public.

Sheddy, who now works out of Airdrie, is a finalist for mentorship, remembering what it was like to start out in the business and passing his knowledge on to others.

His firm employs 40 realtors, five of whom work in Drumheller.

The winners will be announced at a gala on Saturday, March 1, at Theatre Junction Grand in Calgary.
