Customer loyalty is often used as a catchall phrase to capture service, repeat business, referrals and all the other elements of creating a great client base.
In fact, though, loyalty is just one waypoint on a service spectrum that includes:
- · Satisfaction, where your customers are happy with your service;
- · Loyalty, where they’re so happy they’ll do business with you again; and
- · Advocacy, when your customers are so delighted that they’ll almost insist that others do business with you, too.
Advocacy is the holy grail of client dedication. It brings a level of customer evangelism that borders on the obsessive, and with that evangelism come the associated rewards.
I personally cherish and feel grateful for every opportunity that has come my way not only in 2010, but for every year that I have had the privilage of working in this industry.
To all my friends, past clients and future clients, I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
