Buying a home with an exisiting legal suite is a great way to help qualify for a mortgage. Mortgage lenders will take a portion of the rental income into consideration when qualifying a client for a mortgage. They will only look at income from legal suites; income from a 'non-conforming' suite cannot be used as criteria for qualification purposes.
A legal suite will be noted as such on the MLS listing with a permit number from the City of Saskatoon.
