Spring Cleaning

It's that time of year when we can finally banish our gloves and scarves and bulky coats to storage.  But wait, what's that?  Our storage space is already overflowing?  It's time to grab the clutter monster by the horns and regain control of our space with the following helpful tips.

Book time and clear away distractions - set aside a few hours when you're free of other responsibilities.

Try to focus on completing one area with a set period of time - be it one room, closet or drawer.

Divide items into:  keep, donate, recycle and trash.  Test your devotion by examining things on the 'maybe pile' and ask yourself:  have I touched this in the last year, do I love it, do I really need it?  How many times have you actually mourned over the loss of that bright pink polka dot sweater?  Chances are you never gave it another thought once it was out of the house.

Hold a garage sale.  One person's trash is another person's treasure.

Staying on top of problem clutter spots throughout the year is one of the simplest ways to avoid the daunting task of a gigantic Spring clean!
