What is new?
AIR MILES Cash is a new program feature that enables Collectors to instantly redeem their reward miles in-store on their everyday purchases at participating Sponsors.

How does it work?
AIR MILES Cash is different because you can earn reward miles across all major spending categories and now Collectors can redeem instantly in-store off their everyday purchases including gas, grocery and pharmacy at participating Sponsors. Our Collectors aren’t confined to earning and redeeming with just one retailer.
Dream Rewards refer to the type of rewards we have always offered, including flights, vacations, merchandise and more.
Collectors can use the reward miles in their Dream balance to redeem for the more than 1,200 rewards.
Once a Collector selects their balance preference, all future reward miles earned will be allocated to their two balances based on the preference they have selected.
The majority of participating Sponsors will also be providing updates on reward miles earned on receipts.
Collectors can check their balances on airmiles.ca, by using the mobile app or through our Customer Care Centre.
Setting your preference gives you the best of both worlds – you can redeem instantly towards your everyday purchases at participating Sponsors from your AIR MILES Cash balance and you can continue to redeem from your Dream balance like you always have.
Based on your balance preference, we can better communicate relevant offers and rewards to you.
You have the flexibility to change your preference at any time, to change how you allocate the reward miles you earn going forward.
Nothing changes. You will continue to earn and redeem your reward miles the way you always have.
You will not be able to redeem instantly at participating Sponsor locations.
The reward miles currently in your account are allocated to your Dream balance. You can redeem these as you always have for reward options such as flights, travel, merchandise and more.
Only the reward miles you earn going forward will be allocated into each of your balances based on the preference you have selected.
In order to enable this new program feature we need Collectors to set up separate balances.
This is the only way we could bring this new product feature to the market.
We tested AIR MILES Cash with 3,000 of our Collectors and they were very understanding that transferring legacy reward miles into this new program feature wouldn’t be possible.
Yes. The fee to transfer reward miles from one account to another is 15 cents per mile.
You can transfer the reward miles from your Dream balance into another person’s Dream balance or from your AIR MILES Cash balance into another person’s AIR MILES Cash balance.
If you set your preference to 60% AIR MILES Cash and 40% Dream, for every 10 reward miles you earn, 6 reward miles will go into your AIR MILES Cash balance and 4 reward miles will go into your Dream balance.
This is done automatically, you just have to shop and show your Collector Card as always. Our system will count “Cash, Cash, Cash, Cash, Cash, Cash, Dream, Dream, Dream, Dream” then start all over again every 10 reward miles.
Why the change?
We want to make even easier for Collectors to redeem their reward miles. The launch of AIR MILES Cash enables Collectors to instantly redeem their reward miles in-store on their everyday purchases at participating sponsors
Many of our Collectors have been asking for an instant redemption feature and we’re happy to now offer it. In fact, in our ongoing qualitative research the request for an instant redemption offer has been getting just as many votes as an option for online travel booking. We now have both.
If you’re not interested in the new Cash program feature, you can keep using the program the same way you always have with your Dream balance.
We want Collectors to have an opportunity to set their balance preference now and start building their AIR MILES Cash balance so that by the time this program feature launches in March, Collectors can be ready to start redeeming instantly at participating Sponsors.

Redeeming instantly with AIR MILES Cash
No, there is no change to the number of reward miles for gift cards and certificates at this time.
Yes. There are still gift cards you can redeem for under the Dream Rewards tab on airmiles.ca. Use the reward miles in your Dream balance to redeem for these rewards.
Gift Cards and Certificates will be phased out over time and replaced by this new program feature, called AIR MILES Cash.
