The Goulbourn Museum is looking for Antique Christmas Ornaments.
Do you live in Stittsville, Richmond, Munster or rural Goulbourn Township area? Well if you do and if they have any antique Christmas decorations that you would be willing to loan for a display at the Museum over the next few months they would appreciate hearing from you. They would also like a little background information about the history of the item such as where it came from who made it or purchased it, the time frame etc. The decorations will be part of an exibit for 2010 christmas season. The ornaments will be kept in glass display cases and will not be at risk but be viewed by the general public and returned in February after the display has been taken down (unless you really need it back for your tree and then they will arrange for you to have it back before Christmas if need be)
I have a carrot, it was an ornament from my Grandmother's Christmas tree and it was purchased as part of a 3 piece set of vegetables when my Mother was a small girl in the 1920s. I will be lending it to them for their display and if you want to participate please contact the Museum 613-831-2393 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Then watch for info in the Stittsville News to go view the exibit. The Goulbourn Museum is on untley Road at Stanley's Corners between Stittsville and Richmond.
