The President of the Ottawa Real Estate Board comments in their monthly statement of the Ottawa Real Estate Market as, "this is what normal looks like". They go on to say, " Members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold 699 residential properties in December through the Board's Multiple Listing Service® system compared with 618 in December 2010, an increase of 13.1 per cent. The five-year average for December sales is 611. The total number of homes sold through the Board's MLS® system in 2011 was 14,412, an increase of 1.7 per cent over 2010. The average price for 2011 was $343,701, an increase of 5.2 per cent over 2010.

RCI Certificates - What a fantastic Promotional Tool.

Maybe one of the best ways for us as Century 21 Agents to learn just how wonderful a tool these RCI Certificates are is to use them. This is not my first time trying them and I know it won't be the last.

We booked into the Pocono Mountain area of Pennsylvania, on the border of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and only 90 - 120 minutes out of downtown New York City .

It was a 7 hour drive from Ottawa to get here and the roads were smooth and clear all the way. We arrived on friday to discover a big modern townhouse with three bedrooms, two and a half bath that many of my clients at home would jump at the chance to buy and live in. The Fernwood Hotels and Resorts is in amoungst the trees has a golf course, winter fun area, horseback riding, indoor and outdoor pools, restaurants and pubs; very well equipt for most people's interests. It is near East Stroudsburg where there is plenty of restaurants, movie theatres, small shopping and only a short distance from the Town of Stroudsburg where there is even more shopping and things to do. Definately worth the drive.

Coming here has renewed my enthusiam for using RCI certificates as promotion to my business. After the strees of moving a nice rest in a lovely place like this would certainly feel good and keep you in the minds of your satisfied clients.

Are you wondering about the New Bridge? Kanata West/Stittsville

Kanta West / Stittsville, Ontario Are you wondering what is happening about the new bridge on Hazeldean between Kanata West and Stittsville. It was due to be open months ago and it looked as if it was about to when something went wrong. www.emckanata.ca/.../Completion+of+Carp+River+Bridge+on+Hazel... Testing it the mid section dropped. Built on clay the engineers had driven piles of steel down to bedrock to stablize it and had covered everything with very large chunks of styrofoam. I guess it was not enough.

In a interview with Shad Qadri municipal representative from Stittsville he has confirmed that it is delayed he suggests checking his website www.shadqadri.com for info on this and many other things happening in the community. Gearing Up For Fall Market

The Ottawa Real Estate Board has suffered from a lack of affordable listings so far in 2011. That appears to have started to change. This week alone there has been an increase in the number of new listings with almost 500 in the past 2 days but fewer and fewer under $300,000. only 117 in the month of August. Thats condominimums and freehold combined!!!

The revisions are also up and not all of them are going down. As a seller if the market tells you that you need hardwood - put it in or update the roof or furnance and put the price up. It is never too late. Maybe these things will be the boost you need to get that old home gone and on to the new one.

If you thinking of moving this year this may be it > "Time to get that home on the market" ?
