Average Price UP in March and First Quarter

While the year-over-year dip in the number of sales in March is consistant with the trend that has unfolded since mid 2012 this may be partically due to a shortage of listings. 

**May 2012 saw the HIGHEST number of homes SOLD in Markham compared to other months in 2012, many in multiple offers as buyers completed for homes**

Those waiting for big declines in home prices will likely be disappointed.”   While such optimism is unsurprising from a real estate company, despite the fact the number of sales have plummeted across the country since last summer — especially in the condo sector — the survey of Canadian house prices in the first quarter does provide hopeful signs.  as reported in The Toronto Star Canadian housing market ‘in a highly unusual place’
