ANNUAL GROWTH IN HOME SALES CONTINUED IN AUGUST
The Toronto Real Estate Board reports the last full month of summer ended on a high note and expects the demand for ownership housing to remain strong. The number of homes sold in August was up by 2.8% compared to August 2013. Year-to-date the number increased by 6.5% compared to the same period in 2013. First-time buyers and existing home owners remain very active in today's marketplace. According to TREB, seller's market conditions remain in place and we can anticipate the average selling price to continue to increase on a year-over-year basis.
