As we approach December, there are so many community events coming up. Whether old or young there are events for everyone! Here are just a few to check out.
November 20 - The annual Santa Claus Parade and Christmas in the Park. Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at Veteran's Centennial Park. Entertainment, hot chocolate and Santa will all be at the park between 6:45 and 8:30 p.m. Then fireworks at 7:30! Scotiabank will also be collecting donations of new unopened toys for their "Smiles for Christmas" campaign. Remember to stick around downtown as Midnight Madness continues and downtown stores will stay open until 11 p.m.
Also going on this week is the Festival of Trees which benefits the Diabetes Association. This event goes on at the Heritage Inn and Convention Centre from Nov 20-23. There is also a gala on Saturday, Nov 22 at 6:30 p.m. Call 403-362-5914 for tickets.
The Chamber of Commerce will be hosting A Merry Little Christmas Party on November 29. There will be dinner, silent auction, comedy show, dancing and lots of fun to be had! Doors open at 5:30 and dinner starts at 7 p.m. For more information or tickets call Lynsey at 403-362-7641
If you are looking for some entertainment outside of Brooks and plan to be in the Duchess area on Saturday, Nov 22, Red Roof studio is hosting Little Miss Higgins & the Winnipeg Five. There will be two shows, the first one on Saturday the 22nd at 6 p.m. Your ticket pays for supper and concert. Sunday at 2 p.m is the second show. Ticket covers afternoon tea and biscuits and concert. For more information or to puchase tickets call 403-378-4276 or ask at Steaming Cup in Brooks. No walk in tickets available.
