Wouldn't it be horrible to find out that the gorgeous new unit you bought from a floorplan wasn't the one that you actually got!
According to Bob Aaron (guru Real Estate Lawyer) a client of his came in to finalize paperwork for his new condo purchase. Fortunately Bob had the builders plans of each floor layout and pointed to the unit his client had bought. Client says no- 'mine is a corner unit'. at which time they knew they had a problem. Apparently the plans prepared by the builders land surveyor and approved by their consultants were labelled with incorrect numbers on 269 units. This was caught in time and amendments were prepared.
But Bob believes the condo plans are the single most important document in the entire transaction. Every lawyer should order them for every condominium purchase transaction to protect the clients.
