Summer In The Park is one of the BIGGEST events of the year ! This year’s festivities will include the FIRST EVER Summer In The Park Car & Bike Show, The Million Dollar Hole In One, the 40th Anniversary Celebration, educational and sporting activities and even a free night of headline entertainment including…Night Box and Metric Friday night, and Carly Rae Jepsen on Saturday!
Lee Park will be host to the World’s Finest Shows Midway, representation Algonquin Regiment, Rotary Bingo in the Park, secure bike zone, and the Northern Ontario Open Country Singing Contest, community groups, alex the Lion from Madagascar, The Big Pink Bus, the Cogeco Trailer, Grain Farmers of Ontario Education trailer, face painting, Hero the bubble blowing and agility Dog, Shriners Clowns and all kinds of treats from food and product vendors.
The Lee Park programming will remain free to the public and will include the ever popular Inflatable Land, the Petting Zoo, Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo – Crocodiles of the World, and various children’s performers.
Art in the Park will be moving to Discovery North Bay Museum but still hosting a Juried Art Exhibition, professional and free art workshops. The free family fun portion of the Summer In The Park Festival will take place in Lee Park Friday, August 2, from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm, Saturday August 3rd, and Sunday August 4th from 11:00 am – 11:00 pm
The musical entertainment component for the festival will take place in the evenings on Friday August 2nd and Saturday August 3rd at the Community Waterfront Park Amphitheatre (in between the Transit Terminal and Discovery North Bay), allowing the waterfront carousels and Heritage Railway Mini Train to remain open to the public.
Weekend wristbands are currently available for only $40. Individual night wristbands are also available for $30 each. They can be purchased at the Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services Department on the second floor of City Hall, The North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce, Discovery North Bay Museum, North Bay Transit Terminal, Clarion Resort Pinewood Park, TD Bank on Main, TD Bank in the North Bay Mall, TD Bank on Laurentian Ave. or at the Box Office at the Capitol Centre by calling (705) 474-4747 or 1-888-834-4747 or go online to www.capitolcentre.org.
