The residential average price dropped by about 3% in October, but year over year the difference is only about $1,434 or -0.39%. Condos were down about $2,000*. Inventory levels have also come down by just over 10% and if this continues, prices will probably start moving up.

Q. Should you have decorations all over your house, if you are listed and having an open house or expecting showings?
A. In my opinion…no, other than a few small sets of lights and easily removed set decorations. Do not have the house decked out to the nines as it will just be a distraction and in a lot of cases has a tendency to crowd the space.

Should you vote? Common wisdom is that everyone should come out to vote and we bemoan the low turnout for these elections.
My belief is that it is better to have a smaller % of knowledgeable voters than a huge turnout where people just vote on name recognition or whoever is at the top of the list alphabetically.
I’m also not a fan of single issue or “throw them all out” ...

After a fairly slow summer, especially in comparison to the spring market, we are certainly seeing more activity out there.
Although there are 1000’s of available listings, at least this inventory is being eaten away at. For example I pulled 11 listings to show today and 3 of them were sold and 1 was pending. It is obviously still a “buyer’s market”, but getting better ...

This time of year always feel so busy on the family front, but not so busy in the marketplace. Easy to understand really with so many people travelling and taking advantage of the school holidays too.
I expect that the back end of August into Septermber will show an upward trend again.

April is the start of the busy second quarter for real estate, and resale housing sales were down over the same month last year according to a report issued by the REALTORS® Association. Average prices of single family houses moved down compared to a month ago, but were up by 8.2% from last year. Condominium average prices moved up from last month and were up 7.0% from April 2009.

The market seems to be extremely busy at the moment, with a good supply of listings and the normal springtime rush of buyers. Purchasers generally seem to be getting enough time to think about their purchase, but if the listing is in top condition and well priced then a sale follows fairly quickly.
