Cindy's Home Grown Macintosh Apples and Homemade Apple Pie

Prepare 9" pie crust or buy frozen (2/box) ready to fill deep dish.

6 to 8 apples (peel & slice)

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 cup of flour

1/4 of sour cream

Line pie pan with homemade pastry or unthaw deep dish ready to fill crust(s). Mix sugars, cinnamon and flour into a bowl. Place half of sugar mixture over bottom of pie shell. Over this arrange peeled and sliced apples. Mix sour cream with remainder of sugar mixture and pour over apples. Cover with pie pastry.  Poke top pastry with fork to allow steam to escape. Bake on 400 degrees for 10 minutes, reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for another 40 minutes.  Watch carefully, no two ovens bake the same!  Remove when apples are soft to touch with fork, crust is lightly browned and some bubbles may be seen through steam holes. Delicious! Enjoy!
