New Multi-purpose BC Service Card is on the way. taking care of your care card !!!

The BC government is planning to introduce a new multipurpose photo ID card, which shall replace the old health care card and also serve the purpose of Drivers License and BC ID. The government argues the new cards, which will cost $150 million over five years, will cut back on health care fraud, improve patient safety and provide British Columbians with convenient government ID.

The critics are concerned about the privacy issues but Health Minister Margaret MacDiarmid says she understands privacy concerns, but the new cards will make health information more secure, not less.
