Personal Background
Married to Marney (neeMcDonald) since 1963. Two sons: Stephen who is an Anglican Minister with a church in Partis, Ontario; Christopher is a Production Supervisor at 3M and an avid fan of Banzai tree growing. My daughter, Kelly Sue McCormick is a Personal Trainer and a Distributor for MonAmi Acaii.
Marney and I both graduated from Patterson C.I. in Windsor. I later graduated from Port Huron Junior College (Psychology), McMaster University (Sociology and Olitical Science), Waterloo UNiversity, Masters in Economic and Industrial Development, and then Western UNiversity with a Masters Degree in Municipal Government.
I have served on Boards and commissions and municipal appointments: Committee of Ajustment in London, Long Point Conservation Authority and the Kettle Creek Conservation Authority, Cystic Fibrosis, United Way of Norfolk County, President of the Simcoe Marching Lions Drum Corp, and several roles in the local, District and National executives of the Kinsmen Association.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND AWARDS
Thirty years with Ontario Hydro. Worked in the Public Relations department from 1966 to 1968-at Lambton TGS and Nanticoke TGS as Public Relations Manager; then Western Region. The last few years of my career were spent with the Western Region Real Estate Department where I sold and administered over 22,000 acres of property.
Worked at a Human Resources Consultant from 1993 to 1998.
Apart fom three drgrees,I collected professional designations in Human Resources, Public Relations, Economic Development, and Planning.
Active in Kinsmen whre I served as President of Simcoe, a Deputy Governor, National Cystic Fibrosis Chairman.
Won national awards for writing and pubic speaking.
Served as a Municipal Councillor in Simcoe for 6 years. Chaired the Committee of Adjustment for the City of London for two years.
