Things People Want to Know When Hiring a REALTOR®

Most of us find the job interview process to be rather stressful. Imagine if you had to go through this process every day of the week, sometimes several times in one day! This is how a REALTOR® gets work – being hired to list a home for sale, or being hired to help people find a property suitable for their needs.

Every client has their own individual needs of course, and they ask their questions based on those needs. However, there does seem to be a common thread of questions that will always be asked. Here then, based on asking a number of REALTORS®, is a very unscientific list of Things People Want to Know When Hiring a REALTOR®.

  1. What do I need to do?
  2. What do I need to know?
  3. How do I get a mortgage?
  4. How easy are you to get along with?
  5. How good are you at negotiating a deal for me?
  6. What kind of communication skills do you possess?
  7. How much is this going to cost me?
  8. What kind of exposure can you offer me?

Looking at this list, it is plain to see that people want to hire someone knowledgeable, who will put their interests first, and represent them in the best way possible. When you hire a licensed REALTOR® you are getting all these things! There are stringent professional and educational requirements that must be met before you can get licensed and then you must take continuing education to keep your license current.
