As a REALTOR with over 40 years of experience I can say that I have seen many changes over the years in the market. I remember the boom of the baby boomers buying houses in the late 60's and the early 70's. I was around during the high interest rates of the late 70's and early 80's (18-20 % ouch !!!!) and then when the market changed in the early 90's to the boom of the new millenium. If you go back to 1999 (8 years ago) everyone was worked up over Y2K which turned out to be nothing...we all went on with our lives. I am not making light of what is happening in certain parts of the economy but life happens...people need bigger homes..smaller homes...it is all relevant. You have to make decisions based upon your own situation in life and make sure that you have the right professional to help you make the right decisions for you and your family. Hopefully we are able to offer the services to assist all of our clients by using the technology of today with the tools we learned yesterday in dealing with people as good service will never go out of style.
Although I am not in the generation that may fully embrace technology...I realize that it is a tool that we all use and that we all need to be cognitive of. I never thought I would be emailing someone when I am at lunch or on the side of the road in my car...nor would I think that we wouldnt use LP's (or 8 tracks for that matter) to listen to music....Life happens and with all changes we all adapt...sometimes kicking and screaming but we still adapt. I will continue to try and at least stay current while enjoying what I do.
