According to the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), listed existing homes recorded their best December ever as the recovery in the Canadian housing market sales climbed 7.7 per cent last year from 2008.
There were a total of 27,744 units sold across Canada in December, up 72 per cent from a year earlier.

Did you know that the average selling price for homes in Regina soared to a new high last year and the number of properties sold was the second highest ever?
According to the Association of Regina REALTORS®, the average selling price of homes sold through the multiple listing service was $244,328, which is up 7% from the previous high set in 2008.

In Regina, there were 569 single-detached housing starts last year, down 42% from 979 in 2008. There were 361 multiple-unit starts which is slightly lower than the 396 recorded in 2008.
