It is only 4 sleeps until Carp Fair but it is not too late to enter your exhibit! This year marks the 147th edition of the Carp Fair. It prides itself on its hometown feel and broad appeal to people of all ages and all walks of life. The fair could not happen without the tremendous support of all of the volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors and patrons. If you have never exhibited before why not try this year.
The categories are not only for prize cattle, horses and agricultural crops. There are categories for all ages in arts and crafts, baking, photography and flowers. Wouldn't you like a red ribbon for the best "Fall door hanging", "Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies", '3 Photos of Friends" or "Floral Arrangement in a Tea Cup"? This year the Fair has made it even easier to enter. You can go online at www.carpfair.ca to declare your entries and the Fair will preprint your entry forms. Another bonus - if you entry 1 item you will receive a Sunday free pass. Enter 5 items and receive a weekend free pass!
There is so much to do and see at the Fair - concerts, rides, exhibits, 4-H Achievement Day, entertainment - something for everyone.
Thank you to this year's Presidents Marilyn Cavanagh and Bruce Paul. Without their years of diligent hard work as directors of the Fair the event would not be the same.
See you at the Fair - you can tell me all about your Red Ribbon!
