April Inflation Rate 2011

Inflation numbers from April released, annual rate unchanged

Canada's annual inflation rate remained unchanged in April, at the elevated level of 3.3 per cent. It was the second straight month consumer prices were above the 2 per cent target The Bank of Canada strives to maintain.

Statistics Canada says, it was energy - particularly prices at the gas pumps - that has been driving inflation.
