Canwest puts its newspaper division under court protection
The newspaper-publishing unit of Canwest Global is seeking bankruptcy protection. It is joining the parent company that filed in October. The Canwest partnership publishes 12 daily newspapers, including the Vancouver Sun, Montreal Gazette and Ottawa Citizen.
