Sales continue to be a challenge in the Peterborough housing market, but were not seeing the same effects as our neighbours to the south.

In October the average list price was $215,865, which is down from last years record year of $222,322.  A drop of 2.9%

The average sale price was $208,872, which is also down from last year's record year of $215,904. A drop of 3.3%

The average sale to list price remains at 97% for the month.

The average list duration increased by 3 days to 52 days on the market as compared to 49 days last October.

The number of sales in October was 103.  Up 10 units from 2007. This is a 10.8% increase over last year.

Looking at our year to date numbers our average list price is up $8,896 or 4.1% compared to 2007

Our average sale price is $222,082.  Up $8,176 or 3.8% from 2007

Sale to list price remains at 97% year to date.

Our homes are on the market on average for 49 days, this is up 5 days from last year.

The final but most important number is the amount of sales.  Currently we have had 1063 sales which is only down 37 units or -3.4%.  I cannot stress enough how 2007 was a record year for us in Canada.  So being only down 37 units for single family homes in the City of Peterborough is a strong indication on how strong our market really is.
