DriveTest is pleased to announce the re-opening of full services at all of our DriveTest Centres on January 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Travel Points (usually in remote communities) will not open until Tuesday, January 5, 2010.
All road test appointments booked for anytime after January 4th at 1:00 p.m. will be honored. Customers are advised to come to the Drive Test Centre 30 minutes before their scheduled road test appointment in order to complete check-in procedures.
As of January 5, 2010, public classified tests will be available on the system. All truck schools and buses will book through the pre-strike normal process on a first come first serve basis.
DriveTest is asking customers to wait two or three weeks before making an appointment or coming to a DriveTest Centre, unless they need service for employment or training purposes. This will allow DriveTest to give priority to those customers as they work through the backlog created by the strike.
Any customer who holds a licence that expired on or after August 24, 2009 will continue to be covered under the automatic licence extension put in place by the MTO until July 1, 2010. If your driver’s licence expired on or after August 24, 2009 and you require a test to renew it, your driver’s licence has been temporarily extended by an interim regulation put in place by the Ministry of Transportation and you may continue to drive while the regulation is in effect. The extension also applies to temporary driver’s licences. This regulation will not be revoked prior to July 2010. This means you should complete your required testing by July 1, 2010.
