TOWNSHIP OF MUSKOKA LAKES
If you don't have the good fortune of knowing the Township of Muskoka Lakes, let me tell you about it as a resident and member of the Township Council appointed Muskoka Lakes Economic Development and Grants Committee:
It is a municipality that is situated on the most southern part of the Canadian Shield, approximately two hours from Toronto. It encompasses a large geographic area around Lakes Muskoka, Rosseau and Joseph.The communities of Bala and Port Carling are the largest urban centres. The Town of Gravenhurst and the Town of Bracebridge are its neighbours to the south and east, Parry Sound District is on its north and Georgian Bay is on its west.
How many lakes are there in a place that calls itself the Township of Muskoka Lakes? The answer: 80 lakes!
