Part III of TeamCHAMP’s Holiday Organizathon
By now, you’ve (hopefully) started to prepare a safe and guest-friendly home for the holidays. Congrats! You’re now one step closer to avoiding the dreaded stress and procrastination-induced holiday meltdown. To celebrate, we’re giving you a break this week—sort of. Focusing on organizing your home for the holidays is important. Equally important, however, is organizing your time outside of the home. This is especially true in Kingston, where there’s always something going on. To help you out, we’ve made a list of activities happening in December.
For once, you’ll be able to choose activities that are actually fun. Clean the oven? Not today! Do the laundry? Pfft! Those are activities for another day. Without further ado, here are holiday-themed events happening in Kingston this December:
Shop After Dark - December 1st from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in downtown Kingston
Downtown Kingston is always scenic, but around the holidays its festive atmosphere shines. If you’re not in the Christmas spirit yet, then head downtown with your family on December 1st for the launch of the holiday season. While you’re there, you can enter a draw to win a $500 shopping spree!
Sydenham Christmas Trees Delivery & Pickup - December 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sydenham Public School
This event really goes along with our stress-free holiday theme. You can choose your own tree on December 2nd, or order one online at their website. They deliver and recycle your tree, and will even place the tree in your tree stand if you have it ready beforehand. What’s not to love?
- - December 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the MacLachlan Woodworking Museum
Santa in the Square - December 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Springer Market Square
Stop by the square on Saturdays in December to share your wish list with Santa. Afterwards, enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride and do some downtown Christmas shopping.
Kingston Holiday Market – Friday, Saturday and Sunday (check website for hours) until December 23rd at 274 Princess Street
Kingston’s first-ever holiday market, with goods for sale by local artists.
Snow Much Fun - December 8th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Springer Market Square
Head to Springer Market Square on December 8th for seasonal activities. If you enjoy crafts, cider, and delicious things to eat, then you’re guaranteed to have fun.
Canada 150 Skate Day - December 10th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:50 p.m. at the Rogers K-Rock Centre
Free skating, snacks, and drinks. Need we say more?
Outdoor Party for the Animals - December 10th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area
Head outdoors to feed the birds, play games, and make some presents for the animal residents of the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area.
And so ends part III of TeamCHAMP’s Holiday Organizathon. What are we going to organize next? You’ll have to wait and see, but we promise it’ll be fun (probably).
