Daniel McCarthy was born and raised in Vancouver along with two younger siblings Jason and Sydney. As a graduate of Vancouver college high school Daniel credits his private school education with instilling in him the value of conducting himself with a strong sense of both moral and professional integrity in everything he does.
Daniel is an avid car enthusiast. He credits cars as his biggest passion in life even going so far as to convince his mother to let him a buy a 1991 Mustang 5.0 as his first car. A car she so lovingly referred to as a death trap upon her first ride in it. While still in high school he wasted no time trying to make his biggest passion his career. He received his first year automotive technician certificate before he graduated high school despite it being a college level course. Supplemented with his newly minted driver license, his set his sight on the most well-known ford dealership in Vancouver, Brown Brothers Ford. Upon acquiring a position with brown brothers as an apprentice automotive tech he left behind his high school job at Canadian tire despite his general managers best efforts to convince to stay on and become the parts department manager. After numerous years at brown brothers Daniel found himself growing more and more restless. While his passion for cars had led him to becoming an automotive tech it wasn’t a position he found himself naturally suited for. He much preferred working with people rather than objects and yearned for a job that’s didn’t subscribe to the 9-5 mentality. With this in mind he knew just the profession he was best suited for. Real Estate.
Real estate has always been a major part of Daniel life. As the son of a successful Vancouver real estate agent, he grew up heavily immersed in the industry. Growing up watching his mother achieve highly successful sales in residential real estate taught Daniel many things. This environment gave Daniel very in-depth understanding of the real estate industry from a very early age. He identified very quickly what separated those with successful careers from those without. Hard work proper training and customer service were seen as the foundation with which successful agents built their careers on.
Upon receiving his residential real estate license Daniel made the decision to move to the central Okanagan. A decision motived by both personal and professional reasons. On a personal note Daniel is an active outdoors man whose favorite hobby is camping. A passion he credits his grandparents with instilling in him. The Okanagan allows Daniel to revel in his favorite outdoor activity without the two plus hour commute found in the lower mainland. The other aspect of his relocation the professional aspect was that Daniel firmly believes that the future of real estate in BC lies in the Okanagan and with his whole career ahead of him Daniel takes the advice of the great Wayne Gretzky to heart “Don’t skate to where the puck is skate to where the puck is going to be”
