Are you ready to celebrate Canada’s 143rd Birthday? Cities and towns across Canada are getting ready for Canada Day celebrations. If you can’t be at Parliament Hill in Ottawa to see Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, then check out all the activities that are happening in your community.
Canada Day activities in Saskatoon will be held at Diefenbaker Park starting with a buffet breakfast. Various events are planned including live music, amusement rides, food concessions and a stock car display followed by a fireworks display.
In Prince Albert, the days activities kick off at Kinsmen Park with ball games and a parade. Entertainment will continue at Kinsmen Park with children’s games, food booths, etc. until dawn when the fireworks begin.
In Regina, a fun-packed day of activities at Wascana Park starts with a 21-gun salute from the Royal Canadian Artillery’s 10th Field Regiment at noon. Events include a petting zoo, magic show, face-painting and live performances. Red will turn to Green at 5 p.m. when the Rider game will be shown on a screen at the main stage. The celebrations will close with a fireworks display over Wascana Lake.
