There is one weekend left until Thanksgiving weekend, which means one (of many) things – one of Markham’s most anticipated and popular events is back for its 166th run!
That’s right. The annual Markham Fair will run from Thursday, October 3 until Sunday, October 6. Situated on 104 acres of land at McCowan Road and Elgin Mills Road, this is Canada’s largest agricultural fair.
With a wide array of entertainment, the Markham Fair is sure to please all. There will be monster truck shows, cooking competitions, baby contests, a silver paint-donning Elvis Presley impersonator, a parachuting show by the Canadian Forces, freestyle motocross demonstrations, dog shows courtesy of President’s Choice, magic acts, interactive and educational (no one said education and fun can’t mix!) 3D animal models that is always a hit with younger visitors, furry visitors from the Bowmanville Zoo, and so much more! There will also be various musical acts, including internationally-acclaimed Young Empires from Toronto. Of course, you can also count on a wide offering of classic fair favourites fare, such as corn on the cob, burgers and fries.
The price of admission is $15 for adults and youth 13 years of age and up, $2 for children 12 and under and $10 for seniors. A daily family pass for two adults and up to three children is $30. There is ample free parking.
So bring your family and friends and experience one of Markham’s most celebrated events!
