Are you currently unemployed and were you laid off after January 1, 2005? If so, you may be eligible to apply for Second Career, a program funded by the Ontario government to help recently laid-off unemployed workers develop relevant long-term skills to transition back into in-demand careers within the labour market.
Perhaps you are interested in a career in health care, or computer and information systems, or education and government services. Whatever your calling may be, Second Career provides financial support for training-related costs at a college or private career college anywhere in Ontario. This includes tuition fees, transportation, living and travel expenses, books and other costs associated with job training.
Want to find out more? Join Job Skills’ Markham on Friday, January 3, from 2:30pm to 4pm for their Second Career Information Session, which will discuss who is eligible for this program, how this program can help you, and what your next steps are. The information session will be held at their Markham office located at 4961 Highway 7, Suites 100-101.
